Senior Technical Specialist, Game Integrity - Monopoly GO!

Scopely is looking for a Technical Specialist of Game Integrity to join the brand new Game Integrity team of Monopoly GO! In Spain or the UK on a hybrid basis.

Monopoly GO! is our new casual game and a key franchise that has just become Scopely’s largest game, enjoyed by millions of players. The team is mainly based in Europe and the US with a remote-first approach but the willingness to travel several times a year to one of our hubs would be required.

As Technical Operations Specialist you use Elasticsearch queries, SQL queries and our internal tooling to investigate potentially irregular player behavior. Moreover you investigate 3rd party apps, mods and services in a safe way to evaluate what they actually do

What You’ll Do

• Work closely with Community Management and Customer Support to investigate any issue they raise in order to classify it as a real issue or as regular player behavior
• Be part of the player community in order to identify potential suspicious behavior or new ways to cheat and exploit
• Use internal tools to investigate suspicious activity in order to identify and flag cheaters
• Check Tournaments on regular basis for anomalies
• Identify exploitation trends and their scale of usage
• Use tools to detect new forms of violations against our terms of service
• Conduct comprehensive threat analysis of major third-party websites and sellers undercutting our services, thereby impacting our revenue.
• Use virtual machines and dedicated devices to safely investigate 3rd party apps that enable or promote exploits
• Analyze data and monitor game play to detect cheating, collusion, and other forms of game manipulation.
• Use SQL and Elasticsearch queries to check for anomalies and investigate them in depth
• Create reports about your findings including summarizing statistics

What We’re Looking For

• 5 years of professional experience
• Ideally 2+ years as part of a professional game development team or other relevant professional experience
• Technically skilled and able to use virtual machines to safely try out potentially malicious software
• Experiences in SQL and ElasticSearch’s Query Language
• Experienced in using the command line on OSX or Windows
• Experience with Fraud/Cheating in gaming
• Solid understanding of how to handle and analyze potential malware in a safe way
• Experienced in using Excel / Google Spreadsheets
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail and a proactive mindset
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
• Willing to be a gameplay expert for Monopoly Go! In order to be able to understand exploits and exploitation potential quickly and intuitively

Bonus Points

• Scripting using languages such as Python or Javascript
• Strong Math skills
• Experienced in using Looker or similar BI tools
• Experienced in rooting devices and sideload apps
