Senior Technical Program Manager

The opportunity

Unity is looking for a highly skilled and self-motivated Technical Program Manager to facilitate operations and communications between our Release Engineering team and the rest of our global R&D organization. In this role, you will work multi-functionally in pursuit of quality, excellence, improving and adapting strategies to enhance Release Management, Sustained Engineering, and Standards team agility and product delivery, while opening doors to collaboration with the wider company.

As the ideal candidate, you are comfortable wearing multiple hats: connector, coach, reporter, translator, firefighter and will ride the line between Helper and Leader, acting as a force multiplier for the teams you are embedded with. You have a light-touch project management style, and a dedication to encouraging an environment of individual empowerment, ownership, and trust. Your communication skills are outstanding, and have an understanding of and appreciation for working across different cultures, having the passion and drive to provide the best quality engine to our customers.

What you'll be doing

• Act as a collaborative force across teams to unify goals, develop teams that work together fluently, while driving divergent priorities, processes, and cultures
• Work with the Release Engineering leadership team to build a clear roadmap and track internal projects
• Establish relationships with multi-functional teams and senior levels while paving the way for outward communication to be more accessible to the organization
• Analyzing and building on how we work to provide for more scalable frameworks and processes
• Circulate regular updates to stakeholders, providing a concise high-level view into the team’s health and progress against goals

What we're looking for

• Experience in software production / project management, working cross functionally within an engineering organization (or equivalent experience)
• Outstanding communication skills, both written and oral, to speak to a broad audience
• Ability to gracefully and empathetically manage change in an organization, working with the current embedded habits rather than fighting against them
• Demonstrate a customer-focused, proactive, curious approach. Be willing to ask questions, and to dig for your own answers as well
• Self-starter and a great teammate

• Game development (Unity engine or otherwise)
• Working with distributed teams across time zones
• Enterprise-scale software development
• Working knowledge of JIRA or similar software
