Senior Technical Artist

Unknown Worlds is seeking an accomplished senior technical artist. Our ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator and collaborator with the passion for creating beautiful and immersive worlds. This individual needs to be highly self-motivated, self-starting and self-aware. This is a full time remote position on a fully remote team.
Responsibilities
- Help drive state of the art visuals with current knowledge of the latest industry techniques and trends.
- Develop and implement environment and character shaders.
- Work with artists to establish and implement art pipelines and workflow improvements with the end goal to empower the art team and reduce bottlenecks.
- Write tools/scripts to assist with art production and level design.
- Collaborate across departments to ensure the game hits performance targets while maintaining high visual standards.
- Grow the team's overall technical expertise through mentoring and technical guidance.
Qualifications
- 3+ years in game development or related field. Have shipped at least one game from pre-production through launch.
- Extensive scripting knowledge (C#/Python etc.)
- Experience with creating shaders/shader code.
- Experience with rigging and animation pipelines.
- Experience working in Unity.
- Proactive work ethic, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills.
- Prior experience working as a technical artist on shipped titles.
- Knowledge and experience working with a variety of commonly used artist tools such as 3ds Max, Maya, Blender, Substance Designer/Painter, Houdini.
