What You'll Do
As a Character-focused Technical Artist, You will be able to bring our characters to the highest level by delivering efficient pipelines and tooling using your experience and artistic eye. You will offer creative technical solutions to our Art Lead's vision of the product. You are creative, technically flexible, capable of aligning with existing technologies and adapting or adding to them to meet our needs.
In this role, you will
- Utilize expertise to supervise character pipelines in game development, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, efficient, and original characters aligned with the vision set by Art Leads
- Demonstrate creative and technical flexibility, capable of adapting existing technologies or introducing new ones to meet project requirements effectively
- Collaborate on varied aspects of character development and technical artistry
- Approach tasks with a positive and humble mindset, coupled with a ""can do"" attitude, fostering an environment of encouragement and collaboration within the team
- Provide mentorship, development, and coaching to junior Technical Artists, facilitating their growth and ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality results across the team
- Work collaboratively across the team, ensuring that everyone consistently delivers the best possible results by fostering an environment of cooperation and communication
What we're looking for
- Extensive experience with Unreal Engine and Maya (UEFN and Unity knowledge a bonus)
- An artistic leaning with creative sensibilities
- Experience of Rigging
- Developing Character-focused tooling
- Experience overcoming technical animation challenges
- Demonstrable Development of Character pipeline from inception through to implementation
- Retargeting workflows
