Crystal Dynamics is seeking an experienced Senior Technical Artist (Mocap Pipeline and Animation Integration Specialist) to join our talented team of developers! As a Senior Technical Artist who focuses on Mocap/Animation Integration, you will drive technical solutions and work with cross-functional teams to ensure the seamless integration of art, design, and technology in our games. In this role, you will attend mocap shoots to support the mocap stage manager and ensuring the seamless integration of motion data into gameplay systems. Outside of shoot days, you will help core gameplay with animation graphs and ingest animations into the engine.
As a Senior Technical Artist (Mocap Pipeline and Animation Integration Specialist), you will...
- Work closely with animators and engineers to create immersive and dynamic animations, leveraging real-time data streaming and integration techniques
- Develop, implement, and maintain mocap pipelines and tools, both in-engine and externally
- Mentor, guide, and share knowledge with other technical artists on the team
- Design, architect, and maintain animation graphs within Unreal Engine, MotionBuilder, and Maya
- Leverage Unreal Animation Graph to create and optimize high-quality character animations
- Ensure seamless integration of mocap data and animations into our game engine, collaborating closely with the animation team and programmers
- Utilize MotionBuilder and Maya to achieve smooth and lifelike character performances within the game environment
- Collaborate closely with the mocap stage manager to support mocap shoots, ensuring the seamless integration of motion data into gameplay systems
To be considered for this role, you must have...
- Professional game development experience as a Senior Technical Artist or equivalent, with expertise in Technical Art, Character Animation, and Motion Capture
- Strong working knowledge of animation integration into game engine (Preference given to candidates with Unreal Engine expertise; however, candidates with experience in other game engines will be considered if they meet or exceed the remaining requirements)
- Experience working with mocap software to ensure seamless integration of data captured during mocap shoots
- Well-versed in gameplay animation system and modern animation techniques
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and effectively communicating with internal dev teams, ideally on a console title
- Able to work onsite in Bellevue (min 1-2 days a week)
It’ll be a bonus if you also have...
- Shipped AAA title
- Working knowledge of C++/Python
- Portfolio/reel that showcases your gameplay animation (this is highly encouraged)
The pay range for this role includes the annual base salary, not including bonus and the generous benefits package that Crystal Dynamics provides all full-time employees. Individual compensation is determined by work location within our approved states, as well as additional factors, including job related skills, experience, and relevant education. Your recruiter will be able to share more information about total compensation.

$100,000 — $140,000 USD
