(Senior) Technical Animator

Your mission
We are Vertigo Games, the largest VR developer in the world and part of the Embracer Group, the largest group of developers in the world. As our Rotterdam Studio kicks off development on our new AAA VR projects, we are looking to recruit an expressive and experienced technical animator who can aid us in our mission!
As a technical animator, you actively look for opportunities to make the animation workflow smoother and the quality better. Additionally, you enjoy being closely connected to animators, character artist and game designers. We are looking for someone who is excited about all facets of animation, you know all about rigging, skinning, and animation implementation in a game engine.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Skin and create custom rigs for example creatures, characters and quadrupeds.
- Work with and advice the animators, character artists and game designers.
- You actively look for opportunities to make the animation workflow smoother and the quality better.
Your profile
- Expert in rigging and skinning both humans and quadrupeds
- Experience with facial animation and cinematic pipelines
- Experience with Maya, Motion builder and Unity
- Experience implementing, setting up and tweaking animations in Unity
- Able to work with both hand keyed and motion captured animations
- An eye for core animation principles (e.g. timing, weight)
- Modeling & texturing knowledge to advice 3D modelers on e.g. deformations
- You are organized and forward thinking
- You are eager to work on-site
Bonus points for
- Experience with character blueprints and tweak blend trees in Unity
- Advanced knowledge of scripting languages (Python and MEL)
- Affinity and experience with VR games
- Experienced with tracking software (Jira)
- Experience with mo-cap sessions
