As a Senior Systems Engineer, you'll be part of a growing team passionate about self-service tools and infrastructure, powering build/test automation on all Unity platforms. What you’ll be doing
- Lead system-level initial concept discussions and architect system-level solutions, to meet Unity’s key goals of performance, reliability, availability, serviceability, safety and security.
- Drive and lead technical discussions and formulate innovative solutions to sophisticated scenarios/use models relating to design, deployment, operations and future improvements of on-prem private cloud infrastructure.
- Architect system-level test scenarios and guide validation engineers, junior systems engineers, automation engineers to execute and automate the test scenarios.
- Develop automation for the above. Deep dive into open-source software to analyse problems, pull in patches and contribute upstream where needed.
- Ensure infrastructure is highly available, secure and performant by pro-actively investigating system behaviour looking for problems and bottlenecks.
What we’re looking for
- Proven experience in server systems/platforms design and development for enterprise or cloud market segments.
- Proven hands-on experience in server hardware architecture, design, and development with a solid understanding of hardware, firmware, and OS interfaces.
- Strong technical communication skills (verbal and written) to interface with cross-functional technical leads within and/or outside of the organization.
- Broad knowledge of large-scale, highly-available on-prem infrastructure
- Experience with OpenStack deployment and upgrades, with an ability to diagnose and fix issues with the Python source as neeeded.
- Be passionate about what you do, enjoy working as part of a team, and carry a deeply ingrained philosophy of improving things.
You might also have
- Experience in evaluating off the shelf OEM hardware designs, HW/FW/OS interactions, platform config trade-offs, performance tuning and optimizations.
