Would you enjoy the freedom to create AAA games working from anywhere in the UK, including our Liverpool studio?
We are looking for a Senior Systems Designer ground-breaking next generation PvP shooter project with a Games as a Service focus. This is a AAA quality original IP at an exciting stage! Working with a cross-discipline team, you will often be the product owner for features and systems that must fit perfectly into the game. The opportunity is to join at the earliest stages of a multi-year development and help shape an incredible new game experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Imagining innovative and exciting new meta game systems and documenting their aspects
- Examining other successful titles’ meta game and service plans and finding out what makes them tick
- Creating a comprehensive meta system that flows from season to season, keeping players engaged
- Imagining and crafting a meta game that players enjoy from moment to moment; through session to session on to season to season
- Taking these systems through documentation, prototype, and full production on to servicing and evolution
- Tuning and balancing the meta, objectives and systems to ensure the best gameplay, retention and engagement possible, using Unreal Engine and data gained from play
- Owning core game features and working with cross-discipline teams to deliver AAA quality
- Accurately planning your work
- Assisting junior members of the design team
Requirements
- Ability to deliver high-quality work, with very little guidance from others
- Exceptional creativity and design skills
- Love of multiplayer action games
- Great knowledge of meta game systems and a passion and drive to evolve core concepts and drive service forward into something new and exciting
- Energetic and positive attitude
- Passionate about delivering the very best player experience
- Pro-active communication
- Strong knowledge of at least 1 industry-standard engine, ideally Unreal 4
- Working knowledge of Agile development
- Significant professional game development experience with an impressive portfolio
