Platform Lead – Star Wars

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer- Backend to join us at Zynga Austin in creating Star Wars: Hunters™, a competitive arena combat game for the Nintendo Switch system and mobile devices. Star Wars: Hunters will bring players together to engage in thrilling, squad-based, multiplayer battles featuring a diverse array of distinctive new Star Wars characters.

In this role, you will

• Collaborate with engineering, design, user experience, product and analytics teams to identify needs, evaluate requirements, write specifications, and design and implement complex software solutions.
• Write well designed, efficient and well-tested code in Go, leveraging your familiarity with one or more object-oriented server-side languages (Go, Java, C#, Python, Ruby etc)
• Be experienced in building and managing online systems including one or more of high-performance client-server and peer-to-peer networking, identity and authentication systems, matchmaking, guilds, leaderboards, chat, in-app-purchases, secure digital transactions, and live streaming systems.
• Bring a proven understanding of algorithms, design patterns, debugging and performance at scale.
• Strive for excellence in software craftsmanship, and collaborate with peers to improve software design.
• Grow with the business; stretch yourself and learn new skills and domains.
