Senior Software Development Engineer, Simulation Platform, AI@Unity

Using our industry-leading game engine, we are creating a whole new line of products and services centered around running massively scaled simulations in the cloud. What we create will impact multiple industries such as Game operations, Robotics and Autonomous Vehicles, and contribute to the advancement of the field of Artificial Intelligence.

We are building a set of tools and services for a next generation platform given our growing product needs. We’re looking for a leader that is passionate about building distributed services at scale for data generation, machine learning, and scenario testing to advance the state of the art for simulations and virtual worlds.

In this role, you will be designing, building, and supporting new services for the simulation platform. You'll develop the infrastructure and scaling experience across all our product lines. Your work will change the way Unity can be used in the world simulation based testing and training!

Responsibilities

• Build highly available, secure, distributed systems in microservices, container, and distributed cluster-compute architectures.
• Lead junior engineers with technical decisions to deploy software to the cloud and integrate them with new or existing services.
• Collaborate with other engineers in the team to work on some of the most complex challenges in large-scale computing.
• Own and operate the systems that you build based on real-time customer data and demanding service-level agreements.
• Contribute to planning, design, implementation, testing, operations, and process improvement as a member of a Scrum team

Requirements

• Solid skills in a high level language like C#, C++, Java or Go
• Hands-on experience developing large scale distributed systems.
• Proven ability to implement and operate large scale systems with a focus on shipping quality software products and services.
• Experience working with AWS, Azure, GCP, or other cloud providers.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships across the company

Bonus Points

• Experience working with or building data platforms and ML training pipelines
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience launching multiple Products and Programs
• Experience with Unity Engine, 3D simulators, game development and graphics
• Significant contributions to open source software
