WHO YOU ARE
A Senior Release Manager that manages the deliverables of multiple teams by actively coordinating their features across all stakeholders, development platforms, and products. You are the primary point of contact for releases around normal and exceptional cadences for multiple products, and you proactively work to define, maintain, and improve conflict free release processes for the future!
WE'D LIKE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF
- You have 5+ years of production experience shipping AAA quality game technology projects on multiple platforms
- You have a BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- Ability to excel in high pressure situations
- A rational mind with an understanding of data driven decision-making
- A passion for gaming, and a clear understanding of game system priorities
- You have a consistent track record of meticulously building schedules and prioritizing
- You are adept at varying your approach or adapting your process to the problem at hand within the context of the team’s culture
- You are empathetic to the challenges your colleagues face and can produce product results while respecting the people doing the work
- Ability to understand source code and/or design/art/audio conflicts and get them resolved
- Ability to use, provide feedback, and drive new automated systems processes
- Understands source control systems like Perforce
- Have knowledge of CI/CD systems like Jenkins and Team City
- Ok with on call work; including overnights, weekends and holidays
- Previous mentorship or leadership experience
YOU WILL
- Coordinate rapid cadence releases across multiple teams
- Provide feedback / planning assistance across multiple teams
- Understand and debug conflicts between releases (source code or art/design/sound assets)
- Deploy the game/products to players using automation / online systems
- Develop repeatable processes and procedures for long-term conflict-free releases
- Create, maintain and refine runbooks for all release types
- Educate and hold teams accountable on release constraints
- Own the release note process for all changes going into the various branches
- Coordinate the deployment of builds, and integrate changes between the various environments and branches
- Be a point of contact for rotating on call shifts for emergency support for the live product
- Manage risks and resolve issues that affect release scope, schedule and quality
- Conduct formal reviews to determine launch readiness for large and small projects
