The Principal/Senior Product Manager for Ads will lead defining and building the ad system to power the metaverse. Businesses and brands are relevant in the metaverse, as they are in the real world. Historically, the role of businesses and brands across the internet has often been marginalized through the lens of inspiring and distracting ads. You will redefine what ads in the metaverse become and build the system that enables businesses and brands to promote discovery of their experiences, assets, and events. You will establish creative user experiences that power discovery while helping advertisers reach their goals. Ad targeting, optimization, reporting, creatives, and every other major component of the performance ad system will be under your scope. This is a rare opportunity to have end-to-end ownership over a space that has yet to be clearly defined. You will report to a Senior Director of Product Management. Come join us!
You Are:
- Principal/Senior Product Manager with history working on ad systems and performance marketing platforms
- Experienced with aligning teams and prioritizing features/resources
- Experienced with 6+ years of product management experience, with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a similar technical field.
- Experience building/iterating on advertising systems is extremely desirable
- Know the product life cycle from planning through to launch
- Opinionated and willing to make calls with limited information. Comfortable advocating for resources and operating in a dynamic, fluid organization
- Technical, comfortable delving into product, platform and implementation details. Engage with engineering beyond just product and user experience needs, and design scalable solutions
- Metrics-driven, with proficiency in identifying, tracking and acting upon metrics using A/B testing methods. Experience identifying indicators and working with engineering and analytics on instrumentation and monitoring
- Engage with engineering and design through extremely detailed technical specifications or wireframes
You will:
- Design the Roblox advertising platform. Build the product vision and create a plan to iteratively build capabilities
- Immerse yourself with our developer community to understand their needs for discovery and engagement. You will identify the most pressing and important problems for us to solve
- Push the team's thinking about ad delivery and optimization to ensure that the ad system is designed to bring the most value to developers and advertisers
- Lead brainstorming, take these early ideas and iterate, experiment, and build. Defend your POV and adapt your ideas to bring the best result
- Partner with other product, design and engineering teams at Roblox, and guide strategic understanding. Enroll other teams into your product vision and align roadmaps to ensure cohesive product functionality and value proposition
- Use customer understanding and empathy to discover and determine the right problems and products we are pursuing. Comfortable working with a technical developer audience
- Balance and prioritize new features with existing backlog plans and align them with the product vision
