Senior/Principal UI/UX Designer - Hearthstone

Pull up a chair and join us by the hearth! Blizzard is looking for an experienced Senior or Principal level UI/UX Designer to join the Hearthstone design team. Our team values creativity, collaboration and a commitment to quality, so we are searching for like-minded developers to add to our team of talented game makers. As a Senior/Principal UI/UX Designer on the UI/UX team, you will have the opportunity to build upon Hearthstone's visual identity and design language, collaborating with the UI team and iterating using feedback to drive and polish features to the high-quality state that our players expect from Hearthstone. You will apply and maintain a consistent user flow throughout the entire project interface across multiple platforms (desktop, tablet, and phone), in addition to creating wireframes and concept sketches to support purposed UI interaction models. As with every designer on Hearthstone, you will collaborate with a team of artists and engineers to carry design from concept into final implementation, and be a champion of Blizzard's core values, especially “Commit to Quality”.

Minimum Requirements:

Experience

• A minimum of 4 years’ experience working as UI/UX designer in gaming, or interaction design field
• Strong understanding of usability design principals
• Has led features and complex UI systems through completion across multiple platforms (PC, Mobile)

Knowledge & Skills

• Deep understanding of information hierarchy, layout design, UX process and usability design principles
• Strong visual design skills – an understanding of Hearthstone's visual identity and sensibilities
• Proficient in multiple design tools (Adobe Suite, prototyping software, etc.)

• Must be willing to adapt Hearthstone’s unique workflow and pick up technical knowledge on the go
• Be an advocate for simple, intuitive and future-proof UI design - confident in speaking up or giving voice to dissenting opinions constructively
• Able to work well with a team in a dynamic, cross-discipline, and iterative setting
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills

• Experience Previous professional experience working in Unity
• Experience working in 3D Experience of managing, guiding or collaborating with external partners developing UI
• Experience mentoring and training other designers and providing feedback Hands on experience with implementing UI in the game engine
