About the role
As a Senior Physics Programmer, you will play an important role in the creation and upkeeping of a physics subsystem for our Platform. We believe you have a passion for physics simulations and the motivation to work with one of the best game technology. You will have early involvement in ideas that generate discussions and be in close collaboration with technology teams, as well as other parts of Ringtail.
Your day-to-day as a Senior Physics Programmer
- Taking responsibility for projects and driving technical initiatives to ensure their successful completion
- Aligning technical work to the overall design and vision of our product
- Supporting in the development and maintenance of the physics simulation framework
- Collaborating with game design teams, department leads and other programmers to implement the physics subsystem
- Being proactive in the suggestion of improvements to the product
Requirements
- Strong motivation to work with physics in games and game tools
- Strong math skills (linear algebra, trigonometry, matrix/quaternion math); skills and the ability to code and architect gameplay mechanics and tools
- Understanding of rigid body/Newtonian physics simulation in games
- Experience with existing physics engines (Havok, PhysX, Bullet)
- Practical experience with physics programming and extensive understanding of the math behind it
Good to have
- Understanding of game engines, pipelines, and processes
- Shipped games with heavy reliance on physics
- Experience with multiplayer games
