The Accounting team is seeking a Senior Payroll Accountant to support our growing Accounting team in Palo Alto, CA.
This role will work closely with PeopleOps, Legal/Equity, Corporate Tax and Benefits on payroll-related matters as well as interact closely with the Accounting team to complete all close related tasks. What you’ll be doing:
- Processing of payroll for all employees, including new hire entry, master file changes, entering and uploading payroll data, reconciling payroll and conducting employee verifications.
- Ensure compliant with payroll tax reporting and withholding responsibilities
- Responsible for processing off cycle manual payroll checks and/or ACH payroll payments
- Audit and review hourly time sheets and system uploads
- Calculate equity related employee compensation in compliance with US and International tax requirements
- Support month-end close and prepare all payroll-related journal entries, accruals and reconciliation
- Work with cross-functional departments (HR, IT, Legal, Strategic Finance, etc.) to implement payroll process improvements and best practices, to drive excellence and eliminate errors
- Assist employees and managers with payroll related matters
Your background and who you are:
- 5+ years of payroll processing experience
- Possess a working knowledge of payroll-related requirements and regulations
- Attentive to details and high degree of accuracy and attention
- Ability to organize and prioritize deadlines
- Maintaining confidentiality in all assignments and in all information obtained
- Knowledge in Workday, Netsuite, ADP, Paychex
- Good working knowledge in Microsoft business suiteGood verbal and written communications
- Bachelor’s degree (a plus)
