Cloud Imperium is looking for a Senior Network Programmer in our Wilmslow Studio to work on our exciting MMO PC space combat sim, Star Citizen. What do our Senior Network Programmers do? Working on our core network library Research and implement new cutting edge networking technology and tools Analyse, refactor and improve upon existing network codebase Helping programmers from other teams to implement networked game features Assist team members with debugging and fixing network related problems Pro-actively identify and address problems Integrating the client and server with our backend services Mentoring junior members of the team What do we expect from our Senior Network Programmers? Strong C++ and multi-threaded programming skills Work well in a cooperative team environment Strong software debugging skills to effectively track/diagnose/solve a variety of complex issues Work well in a cooperative team environment Ability to innovate, plan, and deliver full features Excellent English communication, both written and verbal Qualifications and Experience: Experienced in TCP and UDP network programming Experience developing server mesh technologies Experience profiling and optimizing (network, CPU, memory, IO) Development experience in Windows/Linux Experience with client/server development network traffic management Management experience CIG Diversity Statement CIG is a global company, staunchly committed to cultivating a culture and workplace that celebrates all backgrounds, lifestyles, and perspectives.
