As a Senior Mobile Engineer at SuperAwesome your main responsibilities will be three-fold: you’ll act as a hands-on mentor who can lead teammates by example, you will keep the quality bar high by continuously evolving the system while keeping it simple, and you will focus on having the highest impact on the product.
You will be part of our product team focused on the development of PopJam, a children's gaming social media application, as well as internal facing teams. You will be joining us on our journey to Empower builders of the Metaverse to recruit, unite and nurture their own future citizens. Making PopJam the go-to platform for game creators to grow non-toxic U13 fan communities, as part of the broader Epic Games's social strategy.
You will work closely with the Tech Lead and the engineers in your team to define the appropriate technical approach, metrics, and timelines. You will have your say in the product roadmap and help the team and the Product Manager to make the most informed decisions to break down complex tech deliverables into simple and understandable user stories.
You will champion continuous improvement and always aim to improve the product your team owns and measure your impact with the appropriate tech, product, or delivery metrics.
- Work across both iOS and Android applications with the intention to drive the highest impact possible across application architecture, the mobile infrastructure and UI testing.
- Work with your team to design and implement features within your defined product domains, keeping well documented and explained choices.
- Be a hands-on mentor and drive quality and reliability from the get go, lowering the overall complexity in the codebase
- Master one or more domains and will break complex goals into simple and iterative deliverables
- Interview candidates for your and other teams, participating to both code reviews and system design interviews
- Commit to high-speed iterations, high code quality, and continuous improvement via agile processes
- Ensure long-term quality, scalability and maintainability of our applications
- Enjoy working with our stack which includes Swift and Kotlin for our iOS and Android applications respectively, but also includes SwiftUI, UIKit, Jetpack Compose, Dagger, Native Android UI, Kotlin Multiplatform, Ktor, Mockk and Sentry to name a few.
Requirements
- A natural passion for delivering quality products
- A strong automation and problem solving mindset
- Experience with mobile technologies; mainly Swift and/or Kotlin
- Experience working with large scale mobile applications and their growth requirements
- Experience working as a senior engineer working in cross functional teams
Nice to have
- Experience working with social media mobile applications
- Experience working with mobile applications aimed at a young audience
- Former experience with Kotlin multiplatform
