Founded in 2016 by childhood friends and business partners Ryan Hogan and Derrick Smith, Hunt A Killer is a fast-growing entertainment company disrupting conventional storytelling by delivering immersive, interactive entertainment experiences to over 100,000 subscribers worldwide.
Hunt A Killer started as a single event that blended the concepts of escape rooms, interactive theater, and live entertainment by engaging participants in a 200-acre living crime scene. From that first foray into entertainment, we learned invaluable lessons, including how to truly immerse our audience in our experiences and the importance of learning from our audience. In October 2016, Hunt A Killer launched our flagship monthly subscription box to 56 subscribers. Hunt A Killer has continued to learn and grow, evolving its products and distribution model to double our business year-over-year. Today, we ship 150,000 episodic and complete mystery game boxes direct to consumers each month and sell purpose-built games through retail channels. ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a hands-on, experienced Senior Manager, Lifecycle Marketing to join the team at one of the fastest growing startups in the U.S.!
You will manage Lifecycle Marketing across all our brands at Hunt A Killer and develop strategies that deliver meaningful interactions with our growing base by leveraging customer data and insights. You will bring unique ways to activate, engage and retain our members.
You are able to balance both the strategic and tactical needs of the organization and be a a growing leader around how to mix engagement and revenue driving ideas. You will own the email channel, along with our other direct to customer channels like text and messaging. With a hyper-focus on deliverability, click-thru-rate and ROI, you will drive improvements to these critical channels.

YOU’RE THRILLED ABOUT THIS ROLE BECAUSE YOU WILL
- Manage the strategy, development and hands-on direct execution of Lifecycle Marketing via our email, in-app, social and other key member to member channels
- Define and optimize the retention strategy and win-back program
- Partner with the Senior Manager of Acquisition to deliver on lead to subscriber campaigns, and other revenue driving campaigns
- Develop best of breed customer onboarding activities to increase our game completion metrics
- Drive the definitions of key segments within our customer database and create compelling, customized content for each group
- Conceive strategies, creative marketing plans and campaigns to increase engagement, long term loyalty and satisfaction of customers
- Support new product launches through the integration of “in-game” messaging and track data to identify opportunities to increase game play completion rates
- Coordinate and monitor the maintenance, integrity, and security of several databases
- Ensure the database is segmented effectively for targeted marketing activities
- Establish the Hunt A Killer content program and implement tactics to improve visits, engagement and ultimately revenue from the content program
- Provide leadership and supervision to a growing team
- Measure and regularly report on key Communications KPIs (Open Rate, CTR, Deliverability, Revenue and ROI)
- Create reporting dashboards where you can track progress and share your findings across the organization
- Understand levers that drive email program health and performance, and be able to build forecasts and the roadmap needed to meet program goals
- Devise and evaluate methods for collecting data such as surveys, questionnaires, and options polls

- Bachelor’s degree (Marketing, Business,Communications or Information Systems preferred)
- 5-8 years of recent email, CRM and/or lifecycle marketing experience, ideally with strong B2C brands
- 2+ years of team leadership experience
- Experience with retention programs to re-engage previous customers and drive increased revenue
- Demonstrated ability to manage end-to-end email campaigns, from audience segmentation to email creative development, including deployment and measurement
- Experience with a paid subscription B2C product business model preferred
- Hands-on experience and comprehensive working knowledge of a major ESP
- Significant experience and knowledge in web analytics, data analysis, A/B and multivariate testing
- Demonstrated ability to partner and collaborate with teams across an organization to achieve goals
- Ability to work across the organization to affect positive changes in marketing KPIs
- Working knowledge of email tools like Klaviyo, Mailchimp, Bronto or similar tool sets
- Self-starter with strong coordination, organization, interpersonal, leadership, communication and multi-tasking skills
- Ability to thrive in a high-pressure fast-paced startup environment
- Quantitative and analytical skills with exceptional ROI-tracking skills and proven methods for marketing optimization; ability to visualize KPIs to communicate status and trends
