Your Mission
As the Senior Manager of Learning Operations and Experience, you will play a pivotal role in accelerating our global learning and development strategies across Activision, Blizzard and King! Your role will be focused on leading the strategy and operations of our company’s global, digital learning ecosystem. You’ll work closely with studio and business unit executives, leaders and subject matter authorities, as well as industry-leading external partners, to lead our learning management systems. Additionally you will focus on digital learning experience via internal content and external partners, and to operationalize our globally aligned learning content and programs to meet the needs of our employees. Some of the programs you will help to operationalize may include, executive leadership and manager development programs, career development workshops, upskilling & reskilling programs and in-person training events. You will also be responsible for building and running enterprise-wide intake process and governance for new learning experiences.
The ideal candidate will be able to drive strong partnerships across multiple key business partners, focusing on what is most important for their immediate and long-term training needs, then driving the process to make it happen. Responsibilities
Learning Operations:
- Operationalize ongoing intake, planning, governance and delivery of learning and development programs across the organization.
- Lead a team to plan and schedule sophisticated learning program activations including triggered communication campaigns, in-person/virtual session creation, logistics for in-person sessions, etc.
Learning and Development User Experience:
- Focused on creating a world-class learning experience, drive the re-design of our digital learning ecosystem.
- Partner with our learning and development design team and bring your UX focused mentality to curate exceptional learning experiences for our employees.
- Consult with learning teams across the enterprise to adapt or design experiences aligned to their ongoing training and content requests. Focus specifically on applying globally relevant content to meet their local learning needs.
Team Management:
- Ability to successfully lead a team of learning and development operations professionals.
- Define, identify and hire learning operations employees and contractors to create learning experiences (sessions, curation, user experience design, etc) in our SABA LMS
- Shown ability to both manage and lead employees in a virtual/remote work environment effectively.
Business Partnership:
- Align to the needs and scale of multiple employee populations, including (but not limited to) our game development studios, engineering teams and supporting business teams across Activision, Blizzard and King globally.
- Build relationships across executive and C-level leadership within designated business teams.
- Work closely with internal partners (i.e., talent teams, people analytics, tech teams, etc.) to deliver meaningful, cross-functional training.
Vendor Management:
- Identify, secure and manage Learning and Development content vendor partners responsible for creating digital learning experiences for our employees. Additionally, supervise partner performance and attainment of contracted goals and outcomes in alignment with business team needs.
- In partnership with selected vendors, design and curate learning experiences in our digital learning ecosystem w/ collaboration from our design team. In addition, you will lead the customization of blended learning options to support independent, classroom, and team-based instruction.
Success Factors
- Develop the strategy and plan to re-design our digital learning ecosystem.
- Cultivate strong relationships across designated business units and teams; becoming the key point of contact for learning & development requests.
- Lead a team of learning and development operations professionals to meet the ongoing learning needs of our internal teams and business partners.
- Support the ongoing activation of core learning and development programming. This includes onboarding, executive development, goal setting and year-end conversations, addressing peripheral leadership/learning needs as vital.
Qualifications / Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- 5+ years professional experience in corporate Learning and Development, especially managing digital learning technology (LMS, LXP, etc.) and/or learning operations team.
- Validated expertise in HR and learning technology. This includes knowledge of learning management systems, HR core systems, content management systems and learning experience platforms.
- Knowledge of learning and development content vendors and external partners
- Demonstrated experience leading a team of operations and learning specialists.
- Strong project/program management, with the demonstrated ability to manage multiple, sophisticated and global programs. This includes project implementation, team member management, and budget management.
- Experience in user experience design w/ learning experience design background as a plus.
- A bias toward action and creative problem solving in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to work autonomously in a fast-paced work environment while completing multiple priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to work in ambiguous situations and across organizational boundaries.
- Proficient with MS Office Suite (i.e., PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
- Understanding of core human resource information systems, Workday experience strongly preferred.
- Experience working with SABA Learning Management System (LMS) and/or Learning Experience Platforms strongly preferred.
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s (preferred) in related subject area, or relevant certification.
