As a Rioter in China, you'll join a team of internationally and culturally diverse professionals that share our prioritization of player experience, rejection of convention and maniacal passion for gaming.

To reinforce Riot’s collaborative culture in our China offices, we’ve decided to do away with the constraints of traditional hierarchical title structures that are more common in the region. Titles don’t really matter at any of Riot’s offices, but we chose to take this extra step in our China offices to foster a space where teamwork thrives. We believe that removing this constraint will promote individual autonomy, ownership, collaboration, and a focus on results. We promise you won’t need a title at Riot to make an impact.

Knowledge & Skills:

• Expert in Art with an exceptional eye for quality in guiding a team of Artists, collaborating to achieve goals while maintaining Artistic Direction
• Strong attention to detail to evaluate and identify quality, maintaining and raising the bar of Art across the game
• Understands and articulates product style, collaborating with Executive Producer to ensure consistency across products
• Focus on Mobile game development with an eye for legibility and clarity
• Understanding of Mobile game development in next-gen engines such as Unity

Responsibilities:

• Translate creative briefs into concepts that achieve product goals, and present those concepts to Product Leadership & stakeholders
• Lead multi-discipline teams of creative personnel and external vendor production partners (artists, producers, 3D leads, illustrators, and 2D designers) to produce game content
• Review content produced by a team of Internal and External artists and bring content to Art and Team Leadership at regular intervals
• Provide feedback and guidance regularly to a team producing characters, environments and UI
• Oversee thematic and lore consistency and ensure new executions follow an IP strategy
• Strong participant in team adopted work systems, rituals and artifacts

Required Qualifications:

• 8+ years of professional experience working as an 3D Artist in games or related industries
• Highly proficient communication skills and capacity to act as an ambassador for Art in a small multi-disciplinary team
• Proficiency with Maya, Photoshop, and Unity, with strong experience working with artists who use those tools
• Able to enforce the use of Style-guides, and drive the creation of new documentation needed in collaboration with the Teamfight Tactics team
• Deep understanding of Teamfight Tactics or League of Legends IP
• Understanding of what game competitors are doing specifically in the China market
• Fluent in Mandarin Chinese as well as English

Desired Qualifications:

• Expert experience working with modeling, sculpting, texturing programs such as Maya, Zbrush, Substance Painter, and Photoshop
• To support a production team at that same China time zone
• Able to establish art pipelines and set up vendors to work on content creation
