About the role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Manager of ASO (App Store Optimization) to join our team. As a Senior Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing effective strategies to improve the visibility and discoverability of our mobile applications on various app stores. Your expertise in optimizing app store listings, conducting market research, and analyzing data will be crucial in driving organic growth and maximizing user acquisition for our mobile apps.
What you’ll achieve
- App Store Optimization (ASO):
- Conduct thorough keyword research to identify relevant and high-traffic keywords for each mobile application
- Optimize app store listings, including app titles, descriptions, screenshots, icons, and other metadata, to increase visibility and attract potential users.
- Continuously monitor and analyze app store rankings, conversion rates, and user feedback to identify opportunities for improvement and implement effective strategies accordingly
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including UA, design, and development, to ensure ASO best practices are incorporated into app releases and updates.
- Implement A/B testing strategies to optimize app store elements and conversion rates, including app titles, descriptions, screenshots, icons, and other metadata
Market Research and Competitor Analysis:
- Stay up to date with industry trends, best practices, and changes in app store algorithms to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge
- Conduct thorough market research to understand user behavior, preferences, and demographics, and apply findings to optimize app store strategies
- Analyze and benchmark competitor app store listings and strategies to identify areas for improvement and develop differentiated approaches
Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Utilize various ASO tools and analytics platforms to gather and interpret data related to app store performance, user acquisition, and conversion rates
- Develop insightful reports and recommendations based on data analysis, highlighting key metrics and suggesting actionable strategies to improve ASO efforts
- Track and measure the impact of ASO strategies and initiatives, providing regular updates to stakeholders and identifying opportunities for optimization
- Analyze user behavior and conversion data to identify friction points in the user acquisition funnel and propose actionable strategies to improve conversions
Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with the UA to optimize the acquisition funnel across app store listings, ensuring a seamless user journey from app store discovery to installation
- Collaborate with the design team to create visually appealing and conversion-focused app screenshots, icons, and promotional graphics that optimize the user acquisition process
- Coordinate with the development team to implement technical ASO best practices, such as app indexing, deep linking, and tracking mechanisms
- Ensure alignment between app store listings and other marketing channels to create a cohesive and optimized user experience throughout the entire acquisition journey
Launch Game Publishing:
- Collaborate with game development teams to create initial go-to-market strategies for mobile game launches, updates, and promotional campaigns
- Coordinate with external partners, such as app stores, game review websites, and media outlets, to secure prominent placements and generate buzz around game releases
- Drive the execution of all initial landing pages and web branding efforts for our newly developed titles
Managing and developing ASO talent
- Lead and mentor a team of ASO specialists, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement
What you’ll need to be successful
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
- At least 5 years of ASO experience with a track record of improving app store rankings and organic installs
- Experience leading and guiding an ASO team
- Strong understanding of mobile app ecosystems, app store guidelines, and best practices
- Proficiency in ASO tools and analytics platforms, such as Sensor Tower, Data.ai, or similar
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex data sets and derive actionable insights
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create compelling app store copy and present findings to stakeholders
- Familiarity with mobile app development processes and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Self-motivated and proactive, with a passion for staying up to date with the latest industry trends and best practices
