As a Senior Localization Manager, you will partner with your peers to lead our Irvine-based, Global Content Team. As part of Localization Production, this team ensures that all content created in support of Blizzard titles delivers a high-quality, natural experience to our global content consumers. Content types supported by the team include videos and cinematics, web content, marketing content, comics and more.
The team also ensures that our regional partners have everything they need to deliver localized content with quality on par with the English source. We are looking for an experienced leader who will drive the evolution of our Global Content Team to meet our ever-changing company needs. Responsibilities
- Partner with global Localization leadership to build, manage and execute a strategic and scalable localization plan for Blizzard Entertainment.
- Provide a framework for long-lasting development of a professional and efficient organization.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with strategic partners and cross-functional global stakeholders.
- Ensure that communication, teamwork and collaboration across organizational boundaries remain healthy and efficient.
- Work actively with stakeholders to ensure our localized content always exceeds player expectations in every language, for existing and new franchises.
- Navigate potential risks and advise on critical issues affecting localization production.
- Provide direction to help us maintain our position as an industry defining localization group.
- Champion the art of localization, both inside the company and outwardly to the industry.
- Lead the team in adopting industry standards while driving innovation in our tools and processes.
- Manage the team to develop strong metrics and KPIs and deliver on them.
- Create and uphold a clear vision and direction for the team.
- Guide direct reports and team members in career development and personal growth.
Requirements
- A minimum of 8 -10 years of people-management experience in games, entertainment, software, or technology.
- Experience managing and leading Localization and Quality Assurance teams.
- Strong knowledge of standard localization industry tools such as CAT, TMS, terminology base etc.
- Strong knowledge and experience in building localization pipelines.
- Strong knowledge and experience in the localization of entertainment content.
- A passion for video games and the art of localization.
- Strong leadership skills and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to formulate and execute on strategic plans while maintaining global alignment.
- In-depth understanding of creative environments.
- Clear communication and great negotiation skills that motivate and influence at all levels.
- Well-versed in localization and the game production lifecycle.
- Experienced in budgeting and vendor management.
- Analytic and curious mind-set interested in identifying opportunities and proactively offering solutions.
- Self-motivated, highly committed, and team oriented.
- 4-year degree or equivalent experience.
Pluses
- Masters in a related field.
- Direct work experience in Quality Assurance, preferably for localized products.
- Experience with localization of audio and video content including subtitling.
- PMP, Agile development, Scrum, Lean Six Sigma, or ISTQB certifications.
