We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated business development professional who will be responsible for the Business Development of brand and category strategic plans.
The Senior Manager Licensing / Business Development will bring their expertise as a strategic, pro-active, and commercially-minded licensing / business development expert with a background in consumer goods and brand partnerships across a wide array of categories. You possess a passion and curiosity for gaming, geek and pop culture, entertainment, and enjoy working in a highly iterative, agile, and creative environment.
This position reports to the Director of Category Licensing. The role will require strong communication across multiple teams and someone who is proactive and comfortable navigating an often-ambiguous environment. You will be a key strategic resource to build out our portfolio of partnerships for Magic: The Gathering, Dungeons & Dragons, and future Wizards IP.
What You’ll Do:
- Drive key category and partnership strategies and development opportunities across our growing portfolio of brands.
- Serve as a liaison between Wizards stakeholders, Hasbro Licensed Consumer Products teams, brand partners and creative studio teams.
- Develop high value partnership agreements and work seamlessly with legal on execution of agreements to build solution-based resolve within different contract scenarios.
- Research new categories of business and potential licensing partnerships for global expansion across Magic and Dungeons & Dragons.
- Partner with financial, legal, and internal licensing partners to ensure alignment across revenue plans, contract compliance, and brand marketing goals, respectively.
- Monitor adherence to contractual obligations for licensee.
- Assess and qualify initial opportunities, prospect leads, develop pitch materials and presentations and solicit / secure business proposals.
- Partner with marketing counterparts to ensure successful execution of marketing initiatives.
- Act as day to day contact for all assigned categories / partnerships.
- Coordinate with creative team to ensure approval of and adherence to brand standards.
- Work with international partners to launch brand in various countries growing our global footprint.
What You’ll Bring:
- 5+ of licensing / business development with category expertise.
- Experience with planning/budgetary royalties and payments.
- Understanding of contract negotiations and deal structure.
- Ability to multitask in a high pace, deadline driven environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills.
- Advance skills with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
