We are looking for a talented LEVEL ARTIST / ENVIRONMENT ARTIST to join our art team. Our ideal candidate is creative, self-motivated, and has knowledge of game development processes.
As a Level Artist, you will be making use of your compositional skills and creation of graphical content to breathe life into the game levels by incorporating environmental storytelling through prop placement while taking technological limits and artistic direction into account.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the asset, props and in-engine level creation.
- Cooperating with the Art Leads to maintain artistic consistency and vision.
- Accurately break down estimates and help planning your own work.
- Help maintain a balance of art quality versus performance in the game engine.
- Be proactive in seeking feedback and pushing yourself creatively.
- Work within the development team to resolve technical and aesthetic issues.
- Optimise environment content to the highest standard.
Requirements:
- At least 3 years experience working in the games industry.
- High level of competency using game engines such as Unity or Unreal Engine.
- Good skills in one of the leading modelling packages (3DS Max, Maya, etc.).
- Environment texturing skills and able to adapt to different styles.
- Creative nature with strong problem solving skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritise work appropriately.
- Great sense of scale, proportion, and composition.
- Knowledge of physically based rendering (PBR).
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work within a team.
- Experience working in a team and commit your work in the project repository.
- Must like to play online fantasy games.
- Environment FX skill is a plus.
