The Sumo Group has been growing, operating studios across the UK and worldwide. We are now looking to grow our Learning & Development team, enabling us to support our talented people to develop their skills and pursue their careers here at Sumo Group.
We have multiple studios which require coaching and training for their people, particularly those who have line management responsibilities, so having someone who can really listen to individual needs and drive forward what’s required, is really important to us.
With our new Career Pathway launching in 2022, your support is needed at Studio level to embed and maximise its value, which in turn should lead to even more effective career and talent development for the business and our people, and create higher demand for coaching and training.

The role would best suit a candidate with experience of delivering the full training cycle, facilitation and coaching skills.
We're really comfortable for this role to be based at any of our UK studios, or remote within the UK with travel to our studios.
Within this role you will:
- Work with appropriate stakeholders to develop and implement bite size management training programmes.
- Ensure managers are equipped with skills to achieve high levels of engagement and performance within their teams.
- Work with the studio management teams and wider HR team to understand the needs and provide learning solutions as appropriate.
- Deliver the training in our company wide training programmes including management and career development workshops.
- Engage with managers at regular intervals to review career progression and development of individuals in their teams.
- Coach a range of people in the studios to help enhance their performance.
- Create and implement blended learning solutions for employees to understand their career pathway and development opportunities.
- Embedding ‘My Pathway’ and values into development plans and talent planning.
- Promote a learning organisation where individuals are empowered to own their personal career vision.
We like you to have:
- CIPD level 5 qualified or equivalent experience.
- A track record of partnering with managers to support in identifying learning needs and implementing development plans.
- Professional knowledge gained through experience in L&D and talent with a creative flair.
- Strong training facilitation skills, delivered in both virtual and face to face settings.
- Experience of delivering blended learning solutions and face to face training.
- Experience of working with pull learning, LXP platforms is desireable.
- Ability to develop innovative and creative solutions
- Ability to build, influence and sustain good working relationships with stakeholders.
- Good coaching and listening skills.
- Ability to work with wider HR and recruitment team to identify and highlight strong talent.
