Senior Graphics Engineer

The opportunity

As a senior graphics engineer on the light transport team at Unity, you will research, design, and develop the systems and rendering innovations for our lighting technology. We specialize in solving the challenges around efficient light-transport optimized for many platforms.

Our team is passionate about using innovative rendering methodologies to develop robust lighting solutions. Your role will allow you to have a direct impact on how global illumination and ray-tracing are taken to the next level at Unity. This is a permanent position which will provide the opportunity to grow as a key contributor to the lighting features and workflows of the Unity Engine and Editor.

What you’ll be doing

• Apply the latest graphics techniques and modern APIs to craft and maintain new lighting features
• Improve the performance, testability and stability of our existing systems
• Build automated tests for new or existing features and bug fixes
• Collaborate with a cross-discipline team to construct our lighting roadmap
• Engage with developers to champion high engineering standards and deliver production-quality code

What we’re looking for

• Solid understanding of graphics pipelines, rendering techniques and the underlying math
• Industry proven experience in professional software development with proficiency in data structures, algorithms, and engineering principles
• Track record of developing robust APIs and libraries and writing clean code
• Strong cross-platform, multi-threaded, C++ and C# programming skills

You might also have

• Practical experience of working in large, sophisticated codebases
• Experience with HLSL and low-level GPU APIs like D3D12, Vulkan and Cuda
• Previous work in the visual effects and/or games industry
