Senior Graphics Engineer, Render Pipelines
1 year ago
The opportunity
Unity Engine is used by millions of creators around the world to build powerful and engaging real-time experiences. At the heart of this is graphics, from the initial point of content creation down to the final pixels on the target device.
The Render Pipeline group is on a mission to build the world's most scalable and extensible render pipeline. Our graphics engineers work on the Universal Render Pipeline that supports all Unity platforms, on the High Definition Render Pipeline that offers the best visual quality on the high end platforms, and on the foundational Scriptable Render Pipeline APIs in the Unity engine.
We are looking for a Senior Graphics Engineer to design and implement the solid base the different render-pipelines can build upon. Your mission it to ensure render-pipelines (URP, HDRP and user created pipelines) have the necessary infrastructure to create flexible render-pipelines that are seamlessly integrated in the unity editor. Our work has to run on billions of devices and scale both performance and quality from the lowest-end mobile devices to the highest-end desktops and consoles. Your first task will be to help extending the render graph to better support mobile and tile-based renderers.
What you’ll be doing
- Extend and improve the existing render pipeline core API's
- Work with internal partners to design and develop new API's that can then be used by render-pipeline developers to accelerate render-pipeline development.
- Maintain existing systems, improving performance, testability and stability
- Work with multi-functional teams spread out across timezones to ensure success for all render-pipelines
What we’re looking for
- Confirmed programming skills in C++ and C#
- Extensive knowledge of real-time 3D graphics and modern graphics APIs.
- Understanding of modern engine systems and rendering architectures and experience of working on real-world productions or large multi-platform engines
- Ability to collaborate with developers, customers, and leadership, both verbally and via documentation
You might also have
- Familiarity with the Unity render pipelines and how to share projects or assets between pipelines.
- Familiarity with render/frame graphs or other graph optimization problems.
