Senior Global Application Engineer

Unity’s Global Business Protection (GBP) team is looking for a full time Global Application Engineer to support our Systems & Technology (S&T) function globally.
Our company is rapidly expanding, and we’re on the look out for a highly motivated, driven and proactive team player that is passionate about deploying, configuring, maintaining and enhancing enterprise level electronic security systems including access control, IP surveillance and database applications. You will work as a key member of the Business Protection team reporting to the Manager of Systems & Technology to drive the deployment, best practice, custom integrations and expansion of our electronic security system and business protection applications. In addition this role will interface with other facets of the business including Workplace Experience, IT, AV, Procurement, legal, and the wider Business Protection team.
Periodic travel to offices both domestic and international is required (up to 50% depending on project requirements).
Responsibilities
- Help in identifying emerging technologies that will enhance our holistic system, and work to provide the custom integrations necessary to enhance our product offering
- You will help to develop standards and drive best practice
- Support our portfolio of projects and programmes for new construction, system expansions and system cutovers, being responsible for the programming, testing and commissioning security system deployments to help ensure a smooth turn-key delivery
- You will form meaningful relationships with our users, partners, internal and external customers alike to understand their expectations and requirements
- Monitor and maintain our electronic security system’s health, including databases and application servers
- You will be responsible for helping us to develop and manage our service processes, and be able to troubleshoot both system and network issues to remedy any faults
- Help to keep our stakeholders and partners accountable to quality and scope requirements along with training our users and partners as required
Requirements
- Experience and understanding of electronic security system architecture
- Experience of custom integrations with third party applications, performing system queries, and customising system reports
- Experience of delivering, commissioning and handing over successful electronic security system installation projects and applications
- Experience with system upgrades, and be able to demonstrate a methodical approach to the process and practices of such projects
- You will be able to able to navigate through system database software to configure, troubleshoot and diagnose data and hardware related issues
Bonus Points
- Industry Certifications in Access Control Systems (e.g. Lenel, C-CURE, S2, Genetec and Honeywell ProWatch)
- Industry Certifications in Video Surveillance Systems (e.g. Avigilon, Exaqvision, Genetec, Milestone and Honeywell MaxPro)
- Familiarity of Cloud Environments (e.g. GCP, AWS, or MS Azure), IT networking and SQL
- Knowledge of Third Party Applications and how to provide integration of them to an Enterprise Physical Security System
Please note that whilst this role is ideally office based we would accept remote applicants from EMEA countries where we have a legal entity including the UK, Ireland, Denmark, Finland.
