As a Senior Game Designer for our upcoming original simulation sniper FPS game, you will be responsible for designing authentic and engaging sniping mechanics, weapon systems, and immersive missions. In collaboration with the team, you will provide feedback and iterate on features to deliver the most compelling and realistic sniping experience for our players. This is a full time, hybrid position based out of our office in Romania.
In this position, you will:
- Lead and participate in brainstorming and conceptualization sessions to develop new game ideas.
- Design core gameplay mechanics and systems. You will balance these mechanics to ensure engaging and enjoyable gameplay experiences.
- Create and maintain detailed game design documents. These documents outline game mechanics, level designs, character descriptions, narrative elements, progression systems, and more.
- Collaborate with game designers, engineers, and artists to create compelling experiences.
- Playtest, tune, balance, and polish gameplay features to ensure a challenging and rewarding sniping experience.
- Research and incorporate real-world sniping techniques, tactics, and equipment to enhance the game's realism.
- Review the game build regularly to identify and address issues and design inconsistencies, give feedback to the team and ensure they are all aligned with the vision for the game.
- Organize and conduct playtesting sessions to gather feedback on game design and mechanics.
Ideally, you have:
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in the video game industry as a designer, with a focus on FPS games.
- A minimum of 1 shipped FPS title as a designer.
- Experience with Unreal Engine.
- Passion for authentic military sniping and a deep understanding of the techniques, challenges, and equipment involved.
