Soldiers, scientists, adventurers, oddities…game producers? The Overwatch team, passionate gamers at heart, is looking for a new hero to help us make Overwatch 2 - the globe-spanning sequel to Blizzard Entertainment’s acclaimed team-based FPS game.

Members of the Overwatch 2 team are driven to make the most fun and compelling experiences for our players. As a Senior Game Producer for World Development, you will spend your days collaborating with both internal and external development teams responsible for developing Overwatch 2’s rich and vibrant world. Our goal is to always surprise and delight our players. We believe in maximum visibility and communication at the team level and with the people who play our game. This is a full-time position at our office in Irvine, California.

Responsibilities:

• Mentor & manage a small team of producers responsible for world development.
• Create, drive, and maintain development process for PVP game modes, Missions, and Events.
• Lead cross discipline strike teams building world related game content & features.
• Develop and maintain project goals, roadmaps, capacity plans and schedules.
• Collaborate with internal teams with a focus on art, gameplay engineering, level, and mission design.
• Manage relationship between game and cinematics team for IGC development.
• Partner with leadership to define team goals and drive communication to ensure deadlines are met in effective manner.
• Facilitate and manage healthy communication throughout the team. Champion the team and its members. Foster a culture of open collaboration and trust.
• Identify, communicate, and work to resolve challenges that may prevent our team or our development partners from achieving goals on time.
• Communicate frequently with the production team on status, risks, and opportunities.
• Define and refine processes and workflows throughout the team.

Requirements:

• A minimum of 8 years of experience working as a Producer or Project Manager on a game team.
• Shipped multiple games, or sizable live updates building game world content and systems in a senior role.
• Demonstrable ability to create, track, and maintain roadmaps, team schedules, and to drive multiple projects to completion in a timely manner.
• Experience managing and mentoring Producers or Project managers
• Skill to communicate effectively, correctly, and succinctly with key stakeholders.
• Comfortable with ambiguity and able to drive towards clarity, strong collaborative problem solver.
• Knowledge of software development and project management, including agile frameworks.

Pluses:

• Experience building AAA Campaigns or Story driven game development.
• Prior experience in a design, story or art related development role
• Having an eye for art, design and in interest in fostering the creative process
• Experience with online games
• Expertise with Jira, Confluence, or comparable applications
• BA / BS (or equivalent)
