Position Summary
As a Financial Analyst in Gaming FP&A, you will be a key business partner to the Senior Finance and Business Unit leadership team, providing analytical support and strategic analysis in a variety of areas, with a particular focus on R&D, Sales, and Product Management.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist in analyzing, reasearching, and summarizing large amounts of data related to operating expenses for over 1,100 employees, with an emphasis on compensation & benefits expense, professional services, software maintenance agreements, T&E, telecom, and regulatory lab fees.
- Analyze assigned departmental month end results in a timely manner and coordinate with Accounting Shared Services to ensure data accuracy for monthly financial results; perform cost analysis against annual plan and/or forecasts, with associated variance analysis narratives and issue resolution follow ups, as necessary
- Design, produce and distribute departmental operating expense reports and accompanying analyses to the finance leadership team and business leaders to support business decisions and expense management
- Ability to research and design financial management reporting utilizing multiple reporting systems and modules (Hyperion Essbase, Oracle, Business Objects, PLM and internal reporting databases)
- Communicate effectively with colleagues to ensure accurate and timely output as well as a consistent planning approach across all business units
- Assist with R&D financial business case analysis, including the development of ROI models for proposed and past product development projects
- Provide assistance in ad-hoc / special projects as required
Qualifications
Position Requirements/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four year university in Finance, Accounting, or a technology field; MBA a plus
- Solid knowledge of GAAP
- Minimum 5-8 years of relevant financial experience with planning, analysis, and reporting processes in a complex organization with multiple business units
- Exposure to working with senior leaders on financial planning and/or reporting
- Proven track record of delivering quantifiable results
Skills/Abilities:
- Self motivated, energetic and ambitious personality
- Strong analytical skills and good intuition when reviewing data to identify areas of opportunity
- High level of ownership for areas of responsibility
- High proficiency with Excel, Hyperion Planning and Essbase
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in financial business case modeling and analysis
- Ability to understand multiple business lines and identify where cross-departmental opportunities exist, comfortable with ambiguity
- Ability to multi-task, use good judgment to balance multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines and work under pressure
- Skill in building trusting relationships and partnerships throughout the organization
- Makes decisions appropriate for level of responsibility, keeps management informed of activities and able to identify when to engage management for key decisisons
- Ability to work well as part of team
- Trustworthiness with access to confidential information
