Summary
The Senior Financial Accountant is responsible for assisting in the day-to-day management of the accounting function for the European operations of the Pixel United portfolio as well as assisting the Financial Controller in executing accounting and reporting initiatives. This role will report into the London based Financial Controller but will work closely with a global team based in Seattle, WA.What you'll do
Financial controllership
- Working with the Financial Controller in leading the monthly close process for the European operations of the Pixel United, primarily Product Madness UK and its subsidiaries in Poland, Barcelona, Ukraine, and Finland.
- Reviewing subsidiary trial balances, transfer pricing, intercompany consolidations, and month-end reports.
- Preparing reconciliations and analytical reviews on the P&L and balance sheet, including substantive commentary.
- Serve as a key contact with third party accounting firms supporting subsidiaries.
- Maintaining a high standard of reporting and financial analysis for both local management and corporate stakeholders
- Reviewing monthly payroll to ensure its accuracy and completeness.
- Reviewing weekly cash flow forecasts and reporting for Corporate.
- Working closely with the purchase ledger team, reviewing and approving weekly payments.
- Maintaining, identifying, and building robust financial control processes and procedures.
- Providing support on all Corporate led projects and System Implementations.
- Other adhoc duties as required.
Statutory reporting and compliance
- Assisting the Financial Controller in organising year end audits and statutory accounts preparation for Product Madness UK, in accordance with FRS 101.
- Assisting the Corporate team with preparing the half yearly supplementary schedules.
- Maintaining system notes and internal control documentation.
- Supporting the Internal Audit processes as necessary.
Tax compliance
- Assisting in the calculation of the annual PAYE Settlement Agreement.
- Assisting our payroll advisors with P11D information.
- Assisting our tax advisors with the corporation tax return and the R&D claims, providing supporting documentation and analysis where required.
- Reviewing VAT returns and providing guidance on legislation.
- Adhoc support with complex employment taxes.
What we're looking for
- Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent).
- Practice background with a minimum of 4 years relevant role outside of practice.
- 8+ years of experience in accounting.
- Experience with foreign subsidiaries and inter-company consolidations.
- Strong technical accounting, reporting and reconciliation skills.
- A “can do” mindset, adaptable and flexible.
- System skills: Strong Excel skills. Ideally Microsoft Dynamics 365, Concur and TM1.
- Ability to hit the ground running and to work independently.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills; must be able to partner effectively with all levels of the organisation.
- A self-starting individual, initiating action without the need to be prompted by others.
- Constantly looking to challenge and improve existing processes.
