Facilities Tech III

Bungie is looking for a Facilities Tech who will assist with a variety of activities, including flooring, drywall, painting, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, landscape, equipment, HVAC, concrete, and roofing. In addition, performs a variety of miscellaneous repairs and maintenance items, such as hanging pictures and moving furniture. The facilities department is responsible for multiple locations in downtown Bellevue & Seattle, including the operation of an on-premises datacenter and associated systems.
With the uncertainty and rapidly changing circumstances surrounding COVID-19, most positions at Bungie are expected to onboard and work from home for a significant portion of 2021. In 2022, most Bungie employees will adopt a flexible schedule working from home part time (outside of positions identified as either 100% onsite or fully remote in CA, IL, NC, TX, and WA). Currently only a select range of positions are available for full-time remote work in CA, IL, NC, TX, and WA (please review location for details). Prospective employees located outside of CA, IL, NC, TX, and WA will need to establish WA state residency within 45 days of a start date. Bungie’s work from home, flexible work schedule, and remote policy is subject to change at the company’s discretion.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide maintenance technical assistance on projects throughout the facility
- Responsible for the maintaining of mechanical, electrical and plumbing equipment including heating systems, electric motors, pumps, ventilating fans, air conditioning and electrical control units as needed
- Perform repair projects as requested and submit documentation of completed projects
- Responsible for proper usage, maintenance, and storage of Facilities tools and supplies
- Rotational “on-call” responsibilities
- Training and mentoring junior technicians
- Knowledge of general maintenance skills such as, Carpentry, Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing as needed
- HVAC
- Performs advanced troubleshooting of all HVAC systems
- Applies knowledge and experience to provide a structure for proactive maintenance of all HVAC systems
- Performs advanced hardware replacement and components
- Responsible for document accuracy and best practices are incorporated for the Building Automation System
- Electrical
- Troubleshoot and repair common and uncommon electrical problems
- Performs advanced maintenance and troubleshooting on UPS, Generator and ATS
- Conducts system and restorative processes, with partner teams, to ensure systems and processes are functioning properly
- Plumbing
- General operation and maintenance of sanitary systems
- Domestic hot water system operation and maintenance
- Automatic Primer and floor drain maintenance
- Potable water maintenance and filtration system
- Backflow preventer inspections
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds and with co-works at all levels
- Training comparable to a comprehensive program, generally a two-year degree, or at least ten years of facility maintenance experience
- Universal EPA refrigerant certification & knowledge of a refrigerant tracking program
- Possess a thorough understanding of all facilities equipment, how they relate to one another, and can resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways
- Possesses expertise in incident management for medium complex systems
- Possesses expertise in project and vendor management
- Possesses a thorough knowledge of up-to-date industry best practices for systems they are responsible for Basic understanding of the purpose and contents of OSHA guidelines for manufacturing including Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDSs), Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), Lock out-tag out procedures (LOTO) and accident prevention
- Ability to follow instructions, inform and communicate effectively verbally and in writing in English
- Perform simple mathematical calculations

- Most of the workday is spent bending, crouching, and pushing/pulling or lifting/lowering weights of up to 75 pounds. Repetitive motions with hands, wrists and arms. Limited exposure to heights, skin irritants, loud noises, electrical equipment and sharp tools/instruments. Limited exposure to heat, cold and lung irritants. Risk from these exposures can be minimized by following company and OSHA safety standards, policies, procedures, and practices
- Must have a Washington State O6a Journeyman’s license on record and validated with Washington State Labor & Industries
NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS
- Associates degree in Mechanical / Electrical Technology or similar would be preferred
- Boiler certification – Grade 3
- Closed loop chemical control experience – cold and hot water loops
- Building automation system classes – Alerton, Siemens, Honeywell
