Senior Executive Planner and Team Operations Strategist
San Mateo, CA
Sony Interactive Entertainment seeks a dynamic, motivated, disciplined Senior Executive Planner and Team Operations Strategist for its Executive Planning group in Global Marketing. This role is a leader of the Executive Planning team and is responsible for:
- Planning, executing, and monitoring progress of executive-led initiatives and programs, including ongoing global leadership meetings
- Crafting and polishing executive communications, including emails and presentations
- Improving efficiency and yield of cross-functional global teams, including simplifying and streamlining senior executive input points
You will lead all executive planning for the office of the Senior Vice President of Global Marketing, worldwide. This role will be work cross functionally with SIE executive teams, Marketing, PR, Sales, local marketing teams, Creative, Product, Legal, HR, Finance, and business partners to create and evolve executive planning and global operational team processes.
Main Areas of Responsibility:
Executive Planning
- Drive Marketing initiatives with thoughtfulness, efficiency, and speed while maintaining the operational rhythm of the business
- Own operational initiatives until they are robust enough to stand on their own
- Plan meeting cadence, agenda and facilitate executive Marketing and leadership meetings
- Monitor initiative progress, priorities and actions following these meetings and report on results and challenges to leadership team
- Synthesize, plan, and execute on initiatives that support objectives key to leadership
- Organize and prioritize critical issues and required information for leaders to facilitate efficient decision-making
- Partner within and outside the exec team, leading at a strategic and tactical level to get results
- As needed, simplify and streamline decision-making for executive leadership, helping to ensure only the most business-critical tasks are prioritized, and that information presented is clear, digestible, and actionable
Communications
- Develop and oversee internal communications strategy and calendar for senior leadership
- Draft internal communications such as emails, presentations, talking points, while maintaining department team space on the SIE intranet inclusive of messages, FAQs, documents, processes, etc
- Partner with PR and Corporate Communications on communications initiatives such as blog posts, media interviews, crisis communication, etc.
Operations
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of departmental functions, structure, and processes
- Identify issues that impede success and work actively to address them, improving the effectiveness of cross-functional teams, including the leadership team and the entire department
- Troubleshoot inefficiencies, process challenges, and relationship hurdles
- Lead learning and development opportunities within teams
- Partner with PMO to coordinate with business leaders and ensure execution and 360 retrospectives on cross-functional projects, to ensure success and continue improving
Required Qualifications:
Education
Experience
- 7 years experience in executive planning, operations, and/or communications
- Ability to orchestrate, organize and lead large distributed groups towards achieving ambitious common objectives!
- Strong understanding of marketing’s core functions and project structures, including the nuances of work within varied marketing disciplines
- Experience building strong relationships within a broad, matrixed, global organization
- Experience working with senior executives, strong writing and collaboration skills, and ease partnering globally across a mix of constituents and organizations
- Technically savvy and curious, with experience in message creation, storytelling, PowerPoint and Excel
- Superb writing skills, including strength communicating complex and/or sensitive information with the appropriate tone and length
- Experience understanding, framing, and communicating problems along with proposing / ideating solutions
- Ability to build consensus through outstanding verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with extensive problem-solving and subtlety skills
- Ability to succeed effectively within a matrix organization, possessing a reciprocal working style, with an execution- and results-oriented focus
- Ability to organize events, meetings, all-hands and other meetings, including creating the agenda and ensuring attendee preparation and meeting success
- Ability to track, prioritize, and drive simultaneous projects to success
- Entrepreneurial, with tolerance for ambiguity and complexity, efficiency with limited resources, and ease demonstrating grace under fire
- A go-getter with experience executing quickly and thoroughly with minimal guidance on complex, ambiguous projects

- Robust organizational and project management capabilities, including being able to plan and lead complex projects
- Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills, combined with strategic focus and vision with the ability to influence and lead others to inspire change!
- Understanding of customer journey and customer experience within an enterprise-level marketing and commerce ecosystem
- Strong communication and presentation skills across all levels of staff and partners, with an ability to frame up status and recommendations for executives
- Ability to present and discuss information in a manner that persuades, educates, and enhances understanding at all levels
- Exhibit meticulous attention to detail, with the ability to make well-founded decisions
