We are looking for a Senior Environment Artist to be a part of our environment art team. As a Senior Environment Artist, you will be responsible for guiding environment art quality from concept to completion. The right candidate for this position is highly collaborative across disciplines to ensure gameplay spaces look visually interesting, are fun to play, and provide and unforgettable experiences for our players. This role will report to the Lead Environment Artist.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with Art Director, Environment Art, and Level Design to create cohesive, visually immersive, high fidelity content to enhance the gameplay experience.
- Effectively partner with internal and external teams to provide feedback, manage, and maintain assets.
- Collaborate with the technical teams including rendering, tech art, tools, and engineering.
- Responsible for world building, content creation, and owning areas of the project.
- Provide mentorship to less experienced artists.
- Create and maintain well-crafted map content that hits quality standards and is performant, while taking into account effective gameplay with high-level design goals throughout production.
- Effectively communicate across departments throughout the iteration process to help resolve issues that result in the best player experience.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in game development with one or more shipped titles on multiple platforms
- A strong portfolio that demonstrates experience world building, modeling, texturing, and set dressing environments for games.
- Must be comfortable taking on responsibility for development of complex environments while pushing the visual quality bar.
- Experience working with a variety of modern art pipelines including modular, organic and hard surface construction.
- Demonstrated experience working with realistic art styles.
- Ability to maintain high quality and consistent progress.
- Can thrive in a highly collaborative team-oriented environment.
- Proficient in either Maya, 3ds Max, or Blender
- A passion for games and world building.
Preferences
- Experience with AAA First Person action titles
- Experience in Unreal
- Familiarity with asset tracking and issue tracking tools such as Perforce and JIRA

The estimated base pay range for this role is: $105,000 - $150,000 USD
