Our Incubation Team focuses on prototyping new ideas, new game concepts, new franchises, and the incubation of new studios with the ambitious vision to create genre defining games for the next generation of players. This is one of those unique opportunities that only happen once in a lifetime.
The Role
One of our unannounced game teams is searching for a Senior Engineering Director to build our engineering team and lead all our technical efforts into a cohesive whole. This role is primarily about helping world-class developers from different disciplines work better together through shared technical standards, unified strategy, better teamwork, and sense of purpose. As a member of both team & project leadership, this person is responsible for helping the entire team stay people-centered, accountable toward our goals, and a genuinely fun place to work.

- Your technical direction is exceptionally consistent, rigorous, reliable, and well-articulated
- You go the extra mile to make sure not only do people understand goals but that they’re excited about them
- You have a depth of knowledge in most game development disciplines and can effectively judge how our technology can better serve their needs
- You thrive working on leadership teams and know how to effectively advocate for the needs of your people
- You work hard to disconfirm your own assumptions and take extra time to understand views you don't understand or disagree with
What You Will Do
- Build & manage a diverse team with a people growth-centric ethos where teammates with varying perspectives are encouraged to identify and propose improvements
- Rally the team around a technology roadmap that is informed by broad expertise & considerations
- Partner with stakeholders to establish clear priorities and define expectations that translate into a scope of work that the team can effectively deliver on
- Create & maintain technical standards for the entire team, including documentation & depot
- As a member of team leadership, advise on cultural, existential, & major strategic issues
- Source new technology solutions to modernize our technology and infrastructure
- Help our other leaders develop better coaching & people development skills
- Take a teammate out to lunch to see how they’re doing
- Get your hands dirty and write some code!
Qualifications
- Experience in a technical role within game development
- Successfully hired & led an engineering team within ‘AAA’ games
- Significant experience working inside a multidisciplinary game leadership team
