SUMMARY OF POSITION
Pixelberry Studios is looking for a Senior Engineer (Server) to help us maintain backend services for our market-leading, award-winning mobile game Choices. You’ll be writing and maintaining features alongside the rest of the engineering team, as well as communicating with other departments when necessary. You should have experience as a backend engineer, ideally within the mobile gaming industry.
Our headquarters is in Mountain View, CA but we can accommodate a remote work environment for a candidate from the following states: CA, OR, WA, NV, and CO.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate with a small, tight production team to continue and develop successful games
- Design, code, unit test, and maintain scalable server codebases and understand client UX
- Research new technologies and help architect the technology roadmap
- Develop fun, innovative game features played by millions
- Maintain a mentoring relationship with some members of your team
- Follow and encourage standards around development, code review, testing, and deployment
- You want to karate kick technical debt in the chops
REQUIREMENTS
- Computer Science degree, or equivalent work experience
- 7+ years of Java, C# experience in an enterprise environment
- 3+ years of database experience (SQL, Dynamo, Neo4J)
- Experience with the AWS technologies such as Dynamo, S3, EC2, ELB, SQS, etc.
- Solid foundational programming skills (algorithms, data structures, OOP, etc)
- Ability to solve cutting-edge technical challenges at scale, with performant solutions
- A passion for games, and an understanding of how they work
- Good communication skills
