Senior Engine Programmer
Blind Squirrel Games is seeking for a talented and enthusiastic senior engine engineer to join our group of fantastic engineers. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for games and enabling content creators to deliver the most polished experience for our players.
POSITION PURPOSE:
The Senior Engine Programmer is responsible for developing and maintaining low-level systems and overall architecture. You will be working on multiple platforms and in areas such as memory management, loading, streaming, physics, audio, platform specific systems, etc.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and implement features and systems like gameplay, AI, Audio, Networking, Physics/Motion etc.
- Determine and help maintain CPU performance and memory budgets across code disciplines and platforms
- Help with critical technical decisions during the development process
- Debug complex issues within various game engines.
- Stay abreast of technology developments in the industry
REQUIREMENTS:
- Excellent C/C++ skills
- Strong analytical skills
- 5+ years of PC / console development experience
- Extensive knowledge in a variety of engines
- Familiar with game asset pipelines
- Ability to work independently and to be self directed
- Excellent team and communication skills
- Self motivation with a strong work ethic
- A passion for game development
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Engineering
- Strong math background
