The Overwatch team is looking for an accomplished Senior Enemy Designer to help us build exciting gameplay through combat.

You will be instrumental in defining and implementing incredible PvE experiences in varying modes of PvE content. You are passionate about creating encounters that are challenging, fun, and empower players to feel heroic. You have the ability to drive design through all phases of development, from brainstorming, to implementation, to balance and bug fixing. You can adapt and align with different goals that each of our modes and pieces of content require.

Most importantly, you thrive working collaboratively alongside artists, engineers, and other team members to work as a team to create amazing experiences for players of all skill levels and play styles.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as gameplay or enemy designer.
• Experience developing enemy AI behaviors and/or abilities.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Self-motivated and driven to grow and learn, as well as help those around you do the same.
• Strong problem-solving skills and game design philosophies with a focus on simplicity and impactful gameplay.
• Passion for video games, especially the shooter genre.
  

Pluses

• CS experience, specifically with scripting languages.
• Design experience on any of the following genres: FPS, Multiplayer Coop, or MMO.
• Prior work experience or education in other (non-design) disciplines: art, programming, production, or audio.
• Passion for Overwatch.
