Job Summary
The Senior Director of Live Operations & Development works directly with the COO to drive development and production capability for live titles, development services and future games. The Senior Director, Live Operations & Development communicates, fosters, grows, and expands Streamline Media Group teams' delivery, capacity, capability, and operations to release world class, groundbreaking products, services and games.
Reporting directly to the COO, the Senior Director of Live Operations & Development grows the team, improves overall live + production processes, sets and adjusts retention & monetization strategy across the org, and ensures our operations teams are best-in-class, as well as any executing any special projects assigned by the COO. The Senior Director of Live Operations & Development is a key leadership position that requires communication, empathy, organizational mastery, and understanding of multiple business, managerial, and technical subjects, with a focus on training leaders and teams, setting policy and related feature review around retention, monetization and live service products.
The Senior Director of Live Operations & Development's day-to-day experience is focused on internal operations and the support of multidisciplinary teams to effectively create and deliver desired outcomes across live products and their financial and operational results. The Senior Director of Live Operations & Development will develop and grow Streamline Media Group's core production teams through guidance, management, and leadership to ensure viability and success in Live Operations and overall production.
This position requires a dynamic ability to work with different cultures, disciplines, and operational circumstances. Travel is also expected up to 35%.
Responsibilities

- Promote safety culture across the organization. Drive root cause analysis to implement corrective action and preventative actions. Develop best practices and establish standardized practices across all teams.
- Assist COO to instill forward-thinking culture that strives for continuous innovation & market differentiation. Create an environment that fosters growth.
- Collaborate with executive management to assure appropriate synergy and integration of new business development activities.
- Engage customers. Listen to and understand the needs of internal and external customers. Strive to exceed customer expectations. Create and maintain competitive advantages within each functional area of responsibility.
- Review and approve proposals for capital expenditures. Develop and administer budgets across operations functions. Allocate resources to accomplish company's strategic and operational plans. Monitor expenditures, activities, costs, operations, and forecast data to determine progress toward stated goals and objectives.
- Drive Live Service Plan/Strategy - develop compelling in-game engagement programs, events and promotions based on a deep understanding of game metrics & performance to deliver KPIs across multiple titles. The right candidate will work closely on all live service deliverables across multiple studios within the company.
- Suggest new content, features and services for integration into the existing product service.
- Strategic Planning - work with analytics team to track KPIs and define/conduct hypothesis-driven analyses that inform our product roadmap and promotional activities; manage A/B testing in partnership with studio and analytics; support senior management with analyses that guides regular strategic planning efforts and decision making.
- Competitive Intelligence & Post Mortems - lead industry intelligence efforts and ensure best practices in driving engagement, both internally and externally are captured and shared across teams.
- Performance Management - support senior management by tracking and reporting key performance indicators that drive life cycle performance of console titles.
- Lead by example, build influence at all levels of the organization.
- Build a comprehensive and detailed strategy and related training for successful launch of new game titles or continued success of existing games
- Provide coaching, guidance and training to the LO team, ensuring employees feel set up for success in their roles, and monitoring and evaluating performance informally and formally
- Oversee the day-to-day workload of the Live Operations team, providing guidance and direction as required. Resolve any escalated issues from the team.
- Review weekly and monthly reports generated by the Live Operations team capturing KPI trends and adjust strategies to meet KPI targets.
- Project staffing needs and work with Human Resources to recruit talent as required
- Develop and submit various reports as requested by COO
- Participate in and/or lead miscellaneous corporate initiatives as directed by COO
Requirements
- 5+ years as a Director or Senior Producer on AAA game(s), with performance responsibility
- 10+ years of production experience in AAA game(s); shipped 3+ AAA titles/1 title with 1M+ MAU
- Expert knowledge of the video game industry and its current trends
- Highly flexible and able to adapt to rapidly changing conditions
- Experience with F2P, online games, live games is required
- Experience with console & pc games is an asset
- Strong analytical skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and last-minute deadlines under pressure
