Senior Development Director

Bungie is seeking an experienced Senior Development Director to wrangle all of the complexity inherent in developing multiple releases across multiple development groups concurrently. The Senior Development Director is responsible for creating, implementing, and continuously improving highly effective processes, tools, and development methodologies that can be shared across all of our Destiny development groups. The Senior Development Director will work under the guidance of the Executive Producer - and hand-in-hand with the production team - to ensure these processes are effective for the development teams, provide the team visibility into what is happening during development, and capture the information that we need to inform future decision-making.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve Destiny 2 production processes, propose improvements with an eye toward consistency, quality, and on-time delivery of each release
- Drive evaluation of new production tools and leverage craft expertise to make recommendations for changes
- Facilitate adoption of new production tools, processes, and rituals across the team
- Build and ensure effective execution of Destiny 2 production reporting and change-management processes
- Create and execute a budget tracking process across all Destiny releases and work with Producers to ensure that all projects are tracking to on-time delivery within those budgets
- Drive the recruitment process for all Destiny releases by aligning staffing needs and priorities with the Destiny 2 Executive
- Producer, Production Directors, and Discipline Directors
- Own the Destiny development calendar and work with production directors to define key project dates across all releases
- Mentor production staff while they shepherd releases through development and facilitate knowledge sharing and collaboration across all release owners
- Drive external stakeholder alignment rituals including quarterly alignment with studio leadership
- Produce 1-2 small teams or areas on shipping products
- Manage and mentor more junior Development Management staff
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Experience delivering AAA games as a Lead Producer or Development Director
- Demonstrated agile subject-matter expertise
- Deep knowledge of production tools and strong capabilities in project management software (e.g., MS Office Suite, Jira/TFS/Azure DevOps, Confluence, etc)
- Exemplary communication skills, outstanding analytical skills, and attention to detail
- Social intelligence, excellent interpersonal skills, and empathy for creative teams
NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS
- Experience with remote team processes and partner/vendor workflows desired
- Experience working on a live game ("game as a service") preferred
