Senior Software Developer (Mobile)
ustwo is looking for a Senior Software Developer primarily focusing on Kotlin for Android to join our New York team.
As a Senior Software Developer, you will be working with cross discipline teams, often collaborating with design, QA, delivery, strategy, and other developers to build innovative products and experiences for our clients. Our developers engage in full production builds but may also function as creative technologists, strategists, and architects in the conceptual stage of a project.
In addition to hands-on coding, you’ll advise on best practices, architect solutions, and lead technical documentation. Our senior-level developers are also typically involved in a high level of client stakeholder interactions from leading demos to explaining how our proposed tech solutions solve our client’s larger business needs.
YOU ARE
- Highly collaborative. While you are effective working independently, you are someone who prefers to work with tight-knit, multidisciplinary teams where sharing knowledge and experience is second nature.
- Able to anticipate how your work impacts the project as a whole as well as the wider team. You have the foresight to communicate issues before they escalate and take ownership of seeking out solutions.
- A proactive communicator who can adapt your explanations of technical concepts & problems to a non-technical audience. You are never afraid to give feedback and are exceptionally clear in your communication when you do.
- Passionate about growing and consistently incorporate learnings into your decision-making. You are curious about new technologies and best practices, and you actively seek out feedback from others to develop your skills and optimize your project work.
- Naturally motivated and self driven. You enjoy sharing your knowledge and look for opportunities to mentor others.
YOU HAVE
- 5+ years of experience delivering clean, well documented code on agile teams
- Serious skills in Kotlin for Android and passion for code quality and craftsmanship
- A deep understanding of common design patterns, frameworks, and libraries for Android
- Experience in automated testing and a test-driven approach
- Experience building testable, scalable, and maintainable products
- Experience or interest in developing applications for Wear OS
- Strong communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences
- Interest and/or experience beyond Android for possible future projects
