Your Mission
As a Senior Desktop Technician you will be responsible for our desktop infrastructure specializing in PC, Mac, and mobile devices with a primary focus on managing inventory and making improvements to the current workflow and processes tied to inventory management. You will work within the Systems Infrastructure team to manage the lifecycle of assets from procurement to end-of-life. This includes being responsible for desktop and laptop deployments, mobile devices, break-fix and incoming support service desk tickets.
Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:
- Manage IT hardware inventory by following existing asset management process while identifying areas of improvements and efficiencies
- Organize and execute end-of-life system replacement and new hire system deployment
- Perform installations, adds, moves, and changes for PCs, monitors, printers, mobile devices and related peripherals
- Perform eWaste process by collecting, applying security requirements (i.e. on-site hard drive destruction) and scheduling pickup
- Perform procurement process for IT Systems Infrastructure team from Purchase Order Request (POR) to Receiving
- Perform IT billing process for IT Systems Infrastructure team by working with vendors and Accounts Payable
- Monitor and triage tickets, as part of Service Desk team; tracking cases from beginning through to resolution for on-site and remote users
- Perform archive restores, manage user and computer accounts in Active Directory; patch management, manage VPN accounts, Aspera requests, respond to security alerts/resolutions, password resets, IBM BigFix Asset Management, and all other duties as assigned
- Perform software and hardware configuration across diverse platforms
- Assist with office/cubicle moves (IT equipment)
- Partner with IT management and security team to ensure that all systems adhere to security policies and any compliance requirements
- Participate in 24/7 IT coverage for the critical business environment and applications as needed including performing backup support to users globally EU/APAC (Europe and Asia Pacific) and collaborate with Service Desk and Desktop Support counterparts in EU/APAC
- Continually researches and keeps abreast of new computer infrastructure, computer system operating environments and new software applications
Player Profile
Minimum Requirements:
- You have 5+ years of IT experience in a support and/or project-based environment; previous experience as a Desktop Technician is a must
- You have proven experience:
- Working with Excel
- Working with asset management tools like ServiceNow, BigFix; and ERP/Financial Tools like Oracle EBS, SAP, MS Dynamics
- Working with Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, EMC (Exchange Management Console), Outlook Web Access and Office 365
- You have a customer service approach to your work with experience helping clients troubleshoot and resolve issues with applications including:
- Windows & Mac OS platforms including mobile devices running Apple iOS & Android OS
- Network services like DNS, DHCP, and certificate-based authentication
- You have a project management mindset; working independently, on multiple projects at a time with proven ability to deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced, complex and dynamic work evironment
- You have an understanding of desktop infrastructure architecture and ability to improve operations, processes and tools accordingly
- You have produced and rolled out processes and tools to improve overall IT support effectiveness
- You’re an analytical thinker with ability to assess resource requirements to support an implementation
- Excellent oral/written communication and organization skills
Extra Points:
- Programming and/or scripting with Python, PowerShell, JavaScript, etc.
- Work experience in Media/Entertainment industry
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or similar education, work experience may substitute formal education based on qualifications
