Senior Concept Artist

Our studio is looking for a versatile and experienced Senior Concept Artist who is passionate about bringing exceptional entertainment to players around the globe. At Hidden Grove, we appreciate the value of partnering with other disciplines to create something special, and you will work closely with a multidisciplinary group to create compelling concept art for a highly stylized new IP in pre-production.

WHO YOU ARE:

• You are an independent, motivated, and self-aware artist who is excited to breathe life into a diverse cast of world-class characters.
• You deeply understand visual design principles and how to apply them to create appealing, stylized designs that communicate gameplay and narrative intent.
• You are proactive about championing the artistic vision of the product.
• You effectively present your positions and ideas to influence the project positively.
• Your portfolio reflects your experience, your love for creating resonant characters and compelling worlds, and your advanced technical skills.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

• Work closely with the Concept Team and Art Director to discuss the current concept work and support them in defining the visual and experiential pillars of the game.
• Help drive visual development of a stylized new IP.
• Collaborate with Designers, Character Artists, and Animators to bring visually memorable and great-playing characters and experiences to life.
• Paint over primitive environment block-outs to explore a new environmental kit.
• Contribute to narrative through worldbuilding sketches, environment designs, and keyframe art.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• A portfolio that displays a strong understanding of drawing and painting, visual design principles, anatomy, and composition.
• Functional understanding of a 3D modeling DCC suite. (ZBrush, Blender, 3Dcoat, etc.)
• Skill at giving clear, actionable feedback to your peers verbally and in writing.
• At least 3+ years of experience as a Concept Artist.

Compensation:

• This is a full-time, benefits-eligible, exempt (salaried) position.
• The full salary range for this position is $117,300 - $176,000 per year. The upper third of the salary range is typically reserved for existing employees who demonstrate strong performance over time. When an offer is made, many factors are considered, such as your unique experience and skills, where you live, where the work will be performed, what similar jobs pay, internal equity, and what you're looking for.
• In addition to base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for additional incentives, such as a sign-on bonus and short- and long-term incentives. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed.
