Senior Cinematics Artist

We're looking for someone to join our UK studio to lead a variety of motion graphics, animation and cinematic projects. You'll possess a creative eye and love for turning scripts and concepts into impressive pieces of animated and filmed content. To excel in this role, you must be highly skilled in CGI software and various aspects of visual storytelling.
As well as proven ability to produce high content within reasonable time frames, we’re looking for someone with the enthusiasm and communication skills to make them a genuine asset to the studio as a whole. Requirements
Functional Responsibilities
- Development of cinematics at storyboards, previz and final quality stages.
- Using techniques like parallax, displacement, and puppet-style animation
- Establishing narrative structure, timings, and editing
- Developing bespoke visual effects
- Providing clear and constructive written and verbal feedback to other members of the art team
- A self-motivated team player capable of educating others
Skills Required
- Fluent with Adobe Creative suite, specifically After Effects and Premiere
- Instinctive understanding of cinematic principles and storytelling techniques
- Ability to effectively composite 2D and 3D sources
- Experience with industry-leading After Effects plugins, i.e. Trapcode, Element 3D
- Experience with After Effects Expression Language / JavaScript
- Ability to learn and apply new techniques
Skills Considered a Bonus
- Good knowledge of videogames and films
- Knowledge of real-time animation in Unreal / Unity
- Experience with dedicated VFX programs like Maya, Houdini and Nuke
Education and Experience
- 3-5 years industry experience
- A portfolio that demonstrates the ability to meet industry standard level of work
- Experience of dealing directly with clients, including Art Directors and Producers

The role would require the successful candidate to work in our Gateshead studio. We're based in the North East of England on the banks of the River Tyne. We're also close to the coast and countryside, perfect for when you want a change of pace from the buzz of the city. Transport connections are excellent, with Newcastle International Airport offering flights across the world. We're also on the East Coast main line, connecting us with London in under 3 hours, Edinburgh in less than 2 hours and York in less than 1 hour.
