Blizzard Entertainment is looking for a well-rounded Senior Character Modeling Artist II to work within our award-winning Cinematics Department.

What You Bring to the Table

Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:

You must be knowledgeable of Blizzard’s varying artistic styles. You are continuously seeking to improve your skills and abilities with regards to 3D asset creation. You must be able to work well within a small team environment and are eager to collaborate with other artists and departments to get the job done. You are ready for the challenge of pushing the quality of our iconic characters of Blizzard Cinematics to even new heights.

This role is anticipated to be a hybrid work position, with some work on-site and some work-from-home. The potential home studio for this role is Irvine, CA. However, we understand each person’s circumstances may be unique and will work with you to explore other possible options, including remote work arrangements. This is a full-time position.

Minimum Requirements:

Experience

• 8+ years’ experience as a Character Modeling Artist in a professional environment (Game Studio, Animation Studio, VFX Studio)
• 8+ years’ experience using Maya, Zbrush and/or Mudbox

Knowledge & Skills

• Ability to model and sculpt characters of any style - from realistic humans/creatures or robots to stylized characters, with or without concept art
• Deep understanding of anatomy, form, proportions and silhouette
• Excellent artistic eye, knowledge & experience of character creation and character performance
• Comfortable collaborating with Art Supervisors/Leads/Senior Artists to troubleshoot technical and/or creative challenges
• Efficient and clean UVW mapping, displacement map extraction and mesh re-topology skills
• Interpret artistic direction with ease
• Ability to complete tasks within the production schedule and/or raise any concerns with your managers as necessary
• Deep understanding of the entire animation production pipeline
