Senior Character Artist

Become a foundational part of an ambitious, respectful and diverse team as we are looking for a Senior Character Artist to join our team.
Reporting to the Senior Character Director, you will help create high-quality characters and creatures that inhabit our worlds. The Senior Character Artist will work closely with the Art Director and other team members to bring characters to life, ensuring they are visually compelling, aligned with the overall artistic vision and product goals. You have a passion for anatomy, costume design, and love of the nuances that establish a believable, compelling, and relatable character. The Senior Character Artist will combine foundational art skills with the know-how and technical experience to breathe life into the characters on screen.
Responsibilities:
- Create compelling, unique, and industry-leading human anatomy (bodies and faces), costumes, creatures, and weapons.
- Work with the Senior Character Director, Art Directors, Production, and Creative Direction leadership in ensuring that character art assets maintain coherence with the larger product creative goals and meet technical requirements.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in the creation of high-quality characters, creatures, and weapons.
- Partner with your fellow character art-focused development team members, providing feedback to ensure visual consistency and quality of our studio products.
- Partner with Concept Artists and Art Direction leadership in the development of character, weapon, and creature assets.
- Partner with the Facial Animation, Animation and Presentation Team members in implementation, iteration, and polish of character art assets into the final product.
- Partner with the Technical Art and Engineering Teams to optimize character assets for performance and to meet product goals.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 6 years’ experience as a character artist in the video game industry.
- Experience in 3D modeling software such as Maya, Zbrush, Blender, Plasticity.
- Knowledge of clothing creation in Marvelous Designer or similar software.
- Proficiency in texturing tools like Substance Painter, Photoshop, Marmoset, and

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The base salary ranges listed below are for the defined geographic market pay zones in these locations. If you reside outside of these locations, a recruiter will advise on the range and benefits for your specific location.

Pay offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.
BASE SALARY RANGES
• California (depending on location e.g. Los Angeles vs. Sacramento):
º $122,400 - $176,300 USD Annually
• New York (depending on location e.g. Manhattan vs. Buffalo):
º $115,700 - $176,300 USD Annually
• Jersey City, NJ :
º $142,000 - $176,300 USD Annually
• Colorado (depending on location e.g. Denver vs. Colorado Springs):
º $131,000 - $174,800 USD Annually
• Washington (depending on location e.g. Seattle vs. Spokane):
º $115,700 - $163,100 USD Annually
• British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria):
º $107,600 - $147,100 CAN Annually
Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. In the US, we offer a package of benefits including paid time off (3 weeks per year to start), 80 hours per year of sick time, 16 paid company holidays per year, 10 weeks paid time off to bond with baby, medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, and 401(k) to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity. For British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
