Role Purpose:
We are looking for a skilled and passionate Sr. Business Analytics Manager to work in the global 2K Analytics group, based out of our London office. This person will report to a director in California and manage one Analyst in Singapore. This role will be responsible for both leading and executing regional product & marketing analytics in EMEA and providing guidance to the Asia Analyst in Singapore.
This role will sit alongside and partner closely with 2K’s regional marketing, finance, commercial, and sales teams, understanding and delivering against their analytical needs by leveraging the power of our multi-dimensional datasets, which include, but are not limited to, gameplay, behavioral, financial and marketing data. The right candidate will harness all of this powerful data to create a detailed forensic understanding of our business and its drivers on a regional and territory-level, informing our business strategy, tactics and outcomes. Success in this role means making analytics and data science work relevant and impactful for non-NA regions.
You are a structured problem-solver and data-driven decision maker. You work very well with colleagues across functions, geographies, and skillsets to orchestrate and communicate a coherent execution strategy and build cross-functional influence. You are great at telling a thoughtful story with clear “so what’s” while seeking and incorporating feedback from stakeholders. You enjoy structuring ambiguous and complex problems.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Analyzing gameplay and sales data to extract compelling and actionable business insights and communicate your strategic findings and recommendations with various stakeholders including executives
- Evaluate and identify opportunities and challenges with customer, business, and market/industry trends along with implications for internal processes and investments
- Analyzing gameplay and economy telemetry data to understand how feature, content, and balance adjustments are impacting overall player experience, before and after the product launches
- Partnering with the regional teams to align on goals, analyze performance, and develop optimized pricing and sales strategies for our digital and physical products
- Support regional organizational strategy by developing and delivering presentations detailing business issues, objectives and opportunities based on internal, retailer and market-level data
- Understand data science model outputs. Evangelize data- and model-based decision making
- Establishing and distributing regular performance reports and dashboards
- Develop and report KPIs, dashboards, and analyses for operating insights and to rally teams to recommended actions
- Establish working rhythms, analytical frameworks, and operating processes to guide cross-functional teams in partnership
- Build relationships across geographies, functions, and levels to embrace new ways of working and leverage existing ones
- Coach and elevate individual contributor (analyst) direct report(s)
- Create cohesion between analytical approaches in Singapore/Asia and London/EMEA. Ensure both regions learn each other’s best practices and those of the broader Analytics department, and that work product make maximal impact
- Occasional travel to EMEA territories (approximately Monthly or twice a quarter), and California (2-3 times per year), dependent on Covid situation
Who We Think Will Be a Great Fit:
- 5+ years of professional experience in fast-paced, dynamic, consumer-focused technology companies
- 3+ years of experience with business and strategic analytics, and/or FP&A
- Advanced SQL skills
- Proven leadership and influence with cross-functional, operating teams that built execution success with positive teamwork and morale
- Experience managing direct reports a plus, some mentorship of more junior employees required
- Strong analytical, quantitative skills and business judgement to model sophisticated scenarios and apply insights to strategy and planning
- Video games industry experience is a plus
- Management Consulting or Investment Banking experience is a plus
