About Sumo Digital, Leamington

Sumo Leamington was established in March 2019, and is managed and operated by a team of industry veterans with deep experience of service-based games. Our vision statement is quite simply 'we make you look forward to tomorrow'; a vision to make games which players will keep coming back to - day after day, year after year.

We also believe that by putting people and purpose first, our studio culture is one that drives performance, boasts enthusiasm, and is something that the team are proud to say they are part of.

Day in the Life of a Senior Build Engineer at Sumo Leamington:

As a Build Engineer at Sumo Leamington, you will develop and maintain our build infrastructure, consisting of several build machines, plus the CI/CD software this build hardware uses. You will be the first port of call to identify the cause of any build problems and will either resolve those problems yourself or work alongside other team members to help resolve them. You may also develop and refine tests to improve the quality of the QA process.

You will be working every day with many of the people on the development team on our Unity-based game, working with all disciplines, including artists, designers, QA, and programmers. You will work with Lead and Senior Programmers and production staff on the game teams who will assist you in planning your work.

You’ll be responsible for ensuring that game packages build reliably and quickly for each of our target platforms, so that the development team and QA have access to builds in order to play and test the game. (The whole development team gets together regularly to play and stress test the game!).

What you need to do this job:

•Experience with build automation tools (such as TeamCity / Jenkins / Azure Dev Ops)

•Familiarity with scripting languages (such as Python / Bash / Windows .bat or Powershell)

•Strong understanding of Git - branching policies and Pull-Request workflow, experience with GIT command line

•Experience of resolving build errors and issues

•Experience with Unity, even better if you have written C# code for Unity

•Familiarity with build pipelines for consoles / mobile platforms

What’s in it for you?
