Metatheory Inc. is a technology-driven entertainment company. With a focus on blockchain, we build games, interactive multi-platform stories, and virtual world experiences imagined across innovative story franchise IPs. We are a remote-first dynamic team of builders, developers, and entrepreneurs that include key founding members from Twitch, as well as Emmy and Peabody Award winning producers and storytellers.
Our flagship IP is DuskBreakers, an eccentric, interactive sci-fi saga set in a post-apocalyptic world where a mysterious alien ship (The Dusk) becomes a beacon of hope for humanity. The franchise spans games, video, NFTs, and other media formats.
We’re looking for a conceptual graphic designer who can bring our brands to life across a variety of platforms. You will work in a fast-paced environment to design visual elements of the brand and its myriad applications - everything from print to websites to game user interfaces.
The job involves working collaboratively with different teams, creative problem solving, and creating clear and compelling design. This flexible, detail-oriented, and creative designer should knowledge of the latest visual trends, polished aesthetics, and excellent interpersonal and communication abilities. Be prepared to develop layouts and ideas from the ground up (with a focus on strong concept!), pitch ideas to team members, and create compelling, relevant, and meaningful work.
Responsibilities
- Ensure consistency of brand storytelling and materials across multiple customer touch points, with a digital mindset first.
- Design high-quality branding identities, from solid concepts to final deliverables
- Develop the look and function for digital media interfaces including websites and games
- Provide branding materials for various projects and needs including sales, sponsorship, marketing and community relations goals
- Able to collaborate with multiple teams and develop creative work
- Conduct design reviews and give feedback to internal and external partners to maintain visual design consistency
- Create high-quality designs under tight deadlines while managing multiple job requests and revisions; keep projects on deadline and within budget
Requirements
- Strong portfolio demonstrating creative excellence, brand development and design discipline
- 4-6 years of work-related experience as a brand designer, graphic designer, or art/design director
- Strong verbal, written and visual communication skills
- Ability to communicate, design and multi-task within a team environment
- Design expertise to follow a project from concept to completion
- Up-to-date understanding of social media platforms and best practices
- Expert knowledge in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign; experience with Figma, Miro and other collaboration tools
- Are updated with the latest design trends, but are also able to push beyond trends to seek original treatments
- A love of games
Will need to have your own computer and software initially
